Ingredients for Italian gelato and pastry-making, made in Bronte, Sicily, by a family that grows its own pistachios.
The family business began in the 1930s in Naso, Sicily, trading olive oil and Nebrodi hazelnuts. In 2017 the third generation founded Brontese by Naxida.
Their own pistachio groves stand at 800 m (2,600 ft) on the slopes of Mount Etna, in Bronte. They grow only the "Napoletana" white variety, the queen cultivar of Bronte. Volcanic soil, hot summers and harsh winters give the pistachio its intense green color and unique taste.
The family controls the whole supply chain, from the tree to the jar, with sustainable cultivation and regular soil, leaf and product analyses.
